At Bobi Agribusiness Institute (BAI), we are committed to transforming Uganda’s agribusiness and food sectors through innovative education and hands-on training. Our mission is to equip graduates from Watoto with the skills and knowledge necessary for sustainable employment in agribusiness, plant sciences, and animal sciences.
Our Goal
BAI envisions a future where empowered, technically skilled, and professionally competent leaders drive Uganda’s agricultural success. By providing specialized training and fostering core values, we aim to revolutionize the agriculture and food systems at both community and national levels.
What We Offer
Comprehensive Training: Our two-year program includes one year of general agriculture and a second year focusing on plant sciences, animal sciences, or agribusiness. Select graduates have the option for an advanced third year with cross-disciplinary education and a capstone project.
Hands-On Experience: Students gain practical experience on our production farms, contributing to their education while supporting our operational needs.
Sustainability and Community
Development: We produce quality plant and animal products for both our institute and the wider community, fostering food security and economic growth.
Innovative Model and Accreditation
BAI is patterned after the innovative and highly successful model of the College of the Ozarks, renowned for its integration of education and practical experience. Our students are taking accredited classes with Dallas International University, ensuring they receive a recognized and respected education.
A Legacy of Empowerment and Care
Since 1984, Watoto has been rescuing and raising orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda. Recognizing the immense potential of Uganda’s agriculture sector, BAI builds on this legacy by offering Watoto graduates a pathway to meaningful employment and community leadership within agribusiness. Through our specialized programs, we not only enhance the sustainability and impact of Watoto’s initiatives but also tap into the vital role of agriculture in driving Uganda’s economic and social development.
